Swimstart needs your support!!

Swimstart needs your support!!

Hello there

As you may know, Silsden is currently having a new primary school built. When the new primary school opens, both current sites, Aire View and Hothfield Street, will become vacant.

Swimstart is in the process of undertaking a Community Asset Transfer with Bradford Council to take over responsibility for the whole of the building which houses the pool. (If you don’t know, there is a classroom next to us in our pool building).

As part of our application, we have to show that we have community support for what we do. We’ve always enjoyed great support from the community for the lessons and service that we provide since we opened back in 2001. Providing a safe and secure environment for children to swim is, we believe, vital and we have to demonstrate that to the council.

If you’re able to, please can you email the officer from Bradford Council who’s dealing with our application, Gemma Cain, to show your support for Swimstart and what we do.

It’s along the lines of

1. How your family has benefitted from Swimstart providing lessons.

2. What a loss it would be to the community if Swimstart wasn’t here and providing learn to swim lessons.

3. How useful it is that we provide the lessons right here in Silsden, especially considering how much water there is around us with the canal, river and stream.

4. That you’re in favour of the Community Asset Transfer to Swimstart.

5. Your name & address.

Gemma’s email address is gemma.cain@bradford.gov.uk. Gemma may not be able to reply to all emails but we very much hope that you can support us in this part of our application.

If you can email Gemma no later than Monday 22 March 2021 please that would be great.

Thank you so much for your help and support with this.

Thanks.
